I’m Abhinav — an engineer, writer, and systems thinker who believes in building from first principles.

By day, I write code (usually in Ruby, sometimes in Python, occasionally in regret). I chase clean abstractions in messy data, have more ML notebooks than sense, debug hallucinations, and occasionally convince Python to behave. I’m slightly too obsessed with refactoring pipelines that already work — especially the kind that chase performance ghosts, rewrite the shape of deploys, and carve order out of monoliths while the system pretends not to notice.
But this site isn’t just about work.
It’s where I think in public, explore big questions, and occasionally publish things that might be useful to someone else. I’m interested in how systems scale, how people change, and how to stay curious for a lifetime.
Some other things I care about:
- All sports great and small — from 1:30am Champions League heartbreaks to 5am WTA finals, 3am NBA madness, Sunday F1 setups just as brunch begins, and Women’s World Cup matches that sneak up during weekday standups
- Film as memory, mirror, and shelter — where stories unfold, and something inside quietly shifts
- Reading books that stretch the mind or break the heart — sometimes with friends
- Music that moves you — from West Coast hip-hop to Hindustani classical
- Making sense of India — its politics, economy, and public institutions
- Staying healthy, thinking clearly, living deliberately
You can read my guiding principles here — I revisit them often.
